Mystery guest audits and mystery shopping in Kazakhstan

A GOSTI mystery guest visits your restaurant, hotel, bathhouse or shop as an ordinary guest and describes the visit as your customer lived it: minute by minute, with the receipt and photos. Almaty, Astana, Shymkent and other cities nationwide.

Why service is a matter of money

A weekday, 13:10, a café in central Almaty. The guest has a business lunch and forty minutes before a meeting in the office next door. Menu in a minute, soup in eight, but the bill has to be asked for twice: the waiter went to the till and got held up at a large table. The guest makes the meeting, leaves the usual tip and next Tuesday lunches across the road. The till report does not show this, just one lunch fewer.

Such losses build up quietly. According to the Bureau of National Statistics, Kazakhstan had 19,588 food service outlets in 2025, 17.5% more than a year earlier. The wider the guest's choice, the dearer each extra minute of waiting, each unanswered WhatsApp message or cold "we're full" at reception.

A mystery guest audit turns these moments into something to work with. A GOSTI report shows at which stage of the visit things stalled, which point of the standard failed, at what time and what to fix first. The manager gets not a general impression but a breakdown to put before the team ahead of a shift.

Services

The Services page covers each service and how to combine them.

Who it is for

Restaurants and cafés, coffee shops and fast food, hotels, bathhouses and spas, shops, beauty salons and fitness clubs. A restaurant most often loses a guest between order and serving, a hotel at late-evening check-in, a bathhouse at booking and welcome, a shop in the first minutes at the shelf. So we build each checklist for the format rather than use one for all. What the mystery guest checks in each industry: see Industries.

Cities

We audit Karaganda, Aktobe, Atyrau, Pavlodar, Oskemen (Ust-Kamenogorsk) and Taraz on request. All cities and how we plan visits there: see Cities.

How an audit works

It starts with a 30-40 minute briefing: what concerns you, which shifts and channels matter, whether you have your own standard. From it we build a checklist where every item has a wording, a weight and clear answer options. The mystery guest comes on agreed days and times; staff do not know the dates. After the visit the methodologist checks every score against the evidence and writes recommendations, and within 72 hours you have the report. A repeat audit shows what has changed. Each step is on the Methodology page, and the result is shown in an illustrative sample report.

Why GOSTI

  • We assess against your standard. The checklist follows your rules, and the visit is scored against the version in force on the audit day.
  • Every score rests on a fact. Key stage timings, the receipt, photos of dishes and table settings, the mystery guest's notes made right after the visit.
  • A methodologist reads the report. No report reaches the client without a methodologist's check.
  • Scores can be challenged. The methodologist reviews a disputed item against the visit evidence, and any change is logged.
  • Confidential. Staff do not know audit dates; results go to the client alone.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an audit cost?

We quote after a short conversation: the price depends on the format, city, number of venues and visits. The Pricing page explains what makes up the cost.

Is the first audit really free?

Yes. We audit one venue and send a full report, with no contract or prepayment. How the mystery guest's bill on the first audit is paid is agreed before the visit.

What language is the report in?

Russian. If foreign managers or owners will read it, we will prepare it in English.

Can you audit a chain in several cities?

Yes. A chain gets a single checklist and identical scenarios, so venues in Almaty, Astana and Shymkent can be compared item by item and section by section.

Where do I start?

Email info@gosti.kz: the venue, the city and what you want audited. We will reply with several times for the briefing. The Contact page suggests what else to include.
